Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Between the ages of 15-29 years old- Unemployed or working less than 15 hours/ week.
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of great attendance at school or work.
  • Able to commit to a 26 week (6 month) full-time training program.

If you meet the criteria above, consider applying for our Youth Work Experience Program, where you can earn money while gaining knowledge and work experience.

Our Federal Training Program is a 26-weeks long. During this time, you will complete:

  • - 6 Weeks of Workshop Training: Receive career counseling, uncover your skills & strengths, learn to write resumes, cover letters and master those interviews. Earn certifications in Safe Food Handling, Smart Serve and more.
  • - 10 Weeks of Internal Work placement: Complete a work placement at our Morning Glory cafe’s where you will work in Catering or a Café. Learn transferable job skills.
  • - 10 Weeks of External Work Placement: Complete job placement with an employer which interests you, whether that be in retail, hospitality or a skilled trade!

Hours/ Compensation:

You will earn $14/hour during this training program. The program is 35 hours/ week for 26 weeks. Applicants cannot be enrolled in secondary or post-secondary.
